We offer effective evidenced based treatment for OCD and it's related anxiety problems. Using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) we focus on trying to help our clients achieve the peace of mind they are searching for in the shortest possible time frame. In particular, we utilise Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) with all our patients to help them overcome their OCD and anxiety.
Over 90% of our clients achieve their desired outcomes. CBT is not a 'miracle' cure, and of course the treatment will involve some challenges and hard work. But the vast majority of our patients commit to the process, follow our treatment plans and therefore get very successful outcomes. Quite frankly, the work that we do changes lives.
Finding the right OCD therapist can be difficult and confusing. However in terms of psychological therapy, it is clear that CBT emphasising Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold standard for treating OCD.
For convenience we have an online booking system so you can select a first meeting time that best suits you.
Unfortunately despite much interest we can only accommodate adults in our service at present.
We work in a professional, comfortable practice located in Islington, London. We are near Old Street, Highbury & Islington and Angel tube stations
"It was such a relief to learn my scary thoughts were just part of my OCD. I had feared that I was too weird to help. That my therapist would say I was too unwell to be treated. I now understand that my thoughts are just thoughts, and don't define who I am. I have learned to accept and distance myself from them. To not be so afraid of them. And now I have much fewer of those horrible thoughts.
There are also other disorders within the OCD family that we treat at our clinic.
"My health anxiety was so bad I was at the doctor almost weekly. I worried she was getting tired of telling me I was 'fine'. My family and friends were always telling me every thing would be OK. But it didn't feel OK- maybe they were all missing something? The CBT taught me how to manage my anxious feelings and troubling thoughts. It helped me face my fears I suppose. And now I haven't been to the doctor in months and feel better than I have in years!"
