About the London OCD Clinic
We decided to set up a specialist OCD therapy practice for two main reasons. Having meet with hundreds of OCD sufferers we started to notice trends. Stories of people spending months or even years in traditional therapy but never noticing any major improvement in their symptoms. Or trying what they thought was supposed to be CBT to discover that the treatment delivered was of a generalised nature, and therefore not being given the specific treatment protocols needed for successful outcomes.
A second reason was that on a personal level, we really enjoy working with OCD and it’s related disorders. That is partly because of the large variance in presenting issues and types of OCD, as well as the excellent results that can be achieved when sufferers manage to follow the advice given. As therapists our career is focused on helping people achieve their desired changes. In working with OCD and it’s related disorders, those changes can be substantial. |
The OCD Clinic has recently been established under the umbrella of the Andern Centre- a more general counselling and psychotherapy practice that was established in 2007. Since the establishment of the Andern Centre the founding director has become more focused and specialised in his training and practice, and now is focused more purely on CBT. The OCD Clinic currently resides in the parent practice, with plans to launch a stand-alone location in late 2018.
All our therapists offering OCD therapy have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and extensive postgraduate training, including at least two years specialised training in cognitive behavioural therapy. We use a variety of cognitive behavioural therapy approaches as best suits each client and their individual issues. |
